General Rules |
|

|
I Tournament Dates a. Spring Tournament 1st Saturday in May b. Fall Tournament First Saturday in October c. Monthly Tournaments Schedule posted in December d. Tournament Start Times 1. Semi-Annual Tournaments 6:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. 2. Monthly Tournaments 6:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. unless otherwise advised II Restricted Fishing Areas a. Behind fence at Spillway b, Water intake on Ski water c. Beyond wire cable in swepco canal III Boats and Safety a. Entrants must have a current TP&W Fishing License. b. Shareholder or privilege card holder must be in boat. d. Boats must have current State and CWC Stickers. e. Failure to comply with instructions from Lake Patrol or Lake Manager, may result in disqualification for current and future Tournaments. f. Life jackets must comply with TP&W Standards. g. All safety devices,, throw cushions, lights must be in compliance of TP&W rules. Life jackets must be worn when boat engine is running h. Monthly Bass Tournaments are limited to members only. Semi-annual Tournaments are open to guest but privilege card holder must be in boat. No guest boats allowed at any time. i. The privilege card holder assumes the responsibility of following and obeying all CFC Rules, TP&W Rules, and CWC rules.
Bass allowed in these Tournaments are Florida(Black) and Guadalupe(spot). 14 inch min. length on all Bass.
IV. Fishing a. Fish are to be taken with artificial bait only. b. No fishing within 25 yards of anchored boat. c. No fishing for at least 50 yards after passing a team trolling in the same direction. d. Trolling for fish is not permitted. Only 1 bait allowed in water per fisherman. e. Common courtesy is required. f. Failure to know rules is not a defense against disqualification. Grounds for immediate disqualification 1. Wanton and willful disregard for life or property during Tournament. 2. Fishing in restricted area. 3. Fishing prior to posted time. 4. Cheating. 5. Failure to obey valid instructions from Lake Patrol or Lake Manager. Includes but not limited to all rules, behavior, parking, loading or unloading boat. 6. Appearance of being DUI or Public intoxication. There is not a rule against responsible drinking or open container. The Directors of the CFC reserve the option to ban any offender from future tournaments due to serious violations of rules. |

Weigh in Procedures |

The scales belonging to the Cherokee Fishing Club will be the only scales used to determine weight of fish in all of Cherokee Fishing Club Tournaments.
V. Weigh in----no fish will be weighed in that are not inside bag with sufficient water to keep fish alive. a. Fish are to be removed from bag and placed into weigh basket, without water , as directed by Weigh Master. b. No Tie positions. First fisherman to weigh, will win position. c. Illegal fish will have 1/4 pound per fish deducted and will not be weighed as part of stringer weight. Dead fish will cause a 1/4 pound deduction per fish. d. 1/4 pound per each dead fish will be deducted from total weight. e. Weigh-in area needs to be kept clear except for those weighing in fish. f. All tournaments are catch and release. g. Fish being returned into lake must be released in such a way as to prevent further injury or death. h. Stressed fish or fish struggling to survive must be put in CFC Display and Recovery tank. i. Dead of dying fish will be kept and given away to be eaten. j. Fishermen must be in weigh-in line, with fish, at the sound or method of ending tournament. No exceptions to this rule. The WeighMaster's log of stringer size, time, and point deductions will be The official document to determine winners. Any protest must be made within 15 minutes of tournament end. Protest is to be made with Tournament Director or in his absense, any director not involved in protest. No protest will be considered after the 15 minute time limit.
One member of the team must have privilege card in their possession prior to being paid in any position. The CWC Rule states that a privilege card holder must have card with them.
Registration for Semi-annual Tournaments Entry forms may be mailed in to the address below. Make Checks payable to Cherokee Fishing Club. Late entry for Semi-annual tournaments will be on the Friday prior to tournament. Entry forms will be accepted at the Cherokee Water Company between the hours of 5:30 and 7:00 p.m. After 7:00 p.m. registrations will not be accepted and no entries will be accepted on tournament day in all Cherokee Fishing Club Tournaments.
Monthly Tournament Registration Entry forms can be mailed or brought to the address below. No checks will be accepted after the Wednesday prior to the tournament. If you pay by check, make sure it is mailed is sufficient time to arrive no later than Wednesday. Cash payments can be made on Thursday and Friday until 6:00 p.m. No entries will be accepted after 6:00 p.m. on the Friday prior to the Tournament or on Tournament day.
Spring/Fall CFC Tournament dates may chaged due to schedule conflicts with a majority of fishermen. These dates are subject to change and will be posted in the Cherokee Chatter and at CFC Meetings in a timely fashion. Please check web site for updates on tournaments. |
